We did a Christmas charity drive in November and December 2010.

Our guests were invited to sponsor a student for RM150 each. This amount is for the purchase of school uniform, shoe and school bag. The response was fantastic. All 34 students were fully sponsored. In addition, we also have enough fund from the hotel and the general public to purchase a watch for each student. We also donated daily goods such as rice, cooking oil, detergent, biscuit, dried noodle, sugar, and toilet paper.

Every student was estastic to receive new uniform, shoe and the school bag. They were particularly thrill to play with the new watch.

It's Christmas time again and 2010 is drawing to a close.

We had a staff gathering and thanks to the hard working staff council, the roof top was well decorated and the programs well planned. No one can fault them for the selection of food, drink, and lucky draw prizes. Everyone is ensure of a lucky draw prize with the grand prize of a refrigerator.

We had a creative hat competition and indeed the creativeness of our staff has no limits.

The carolers serenade us with the wonderful songs of Christmas.

It was an enjoyable evening.

In preparation for our Christmas charity event, a visit to Tuaran Jireh home, home for the underprivileged and absed children was carried out on 14/8/2010.

The main purpose of the visit is to get to know the children. A donation drive will be initiated in November and December in order to collect fund to purchase school uniform, bag, shoe and stationery for these children. The trip was to interview and find out more from each of the children, their favorite colour and preferences for their school bag, stationery. The uniform and shoe size is also recorded.

We also brought some rice, biscuit, cooking oil and other stuff for the home. We were welcome enthausiatically by the care takers and the children. We also visited the boys and girls dormitory.

It is so glad to see all the happy and smiling faces. We hope to add more sunshine into their life.


Blood Donation 31/7/2010

As part of our corporate social responsibility, with the help of the Blood bank at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, we initiated a blood donation drive at Wawasan plaza on 31/7/10.

Communications department did a fine job in promoting the event. A total of 40 pints was collected from hotel guest, staff and the general public.

It was a worthy exercise.

A notice board was iontroduced in June 2010 at the main lobby. As expected, Commuications department, with their creativity, filled the notice board with colurful, attractive and informative posters.

Attractions in the city, things to do, places to visit and eat are just some of the information displyed. Other information displayed are the tourism timetable as well as the guest comments extracted from the internet as posted by the guests.


Api Api Hash House 19/03/2010

Api Api Hash House 15th anniversary gathering was on 19/03/2010. It was a 2 day events and it attracted more than 1000 participants from Asia Pacific regions. Cititel Express was the official hotel. Many participants took the opportunity to visit Sabah and we have people arriving as early as a week before the events. There were also those who stayed behind after the event inorder to explore some of the attractions of Sabah.

Beside the usual run and partying, there was a charity sarong run from the hotel to Grand Portview restaurant. Participants purchased sarong and wear it as they did the 2.5 km run. The purpose is to rasie fund that was donated to a charity organization.

Feed backs from the participants for the hotel were very positive. The central location of the hotel is convenient and with the vast lobby space and free parking, it was easy for organizer to coordinate and communicate with that many participants. The friendliness and nothing is too difficult attitudes of the hotel staff ensure the success of the event.
